She might be more "central" than any of your supporting actress nominees, but I can't speak to that. I have only seen Wendy Hiller and obviously she is more central than her.

For me either someone is the lead of a movie or they aren't. The only lead character in the movie is Frank Sinatra. Orson Welles is far more central in Touch of Evil than Shirley MacLaine is in Some Came Running and you have him supporting.

I am just explaining how I do it btw, I am not telling you what your opinion should be.
