The concept is interesting, the problem is the actor. I'm not convinced Winston Duke is leading man material. It's the same problem I have with Shuri. I don't think Letitia Wright is skilled enough to carry a movie. I don't understand why they don't just give the mantle of BP to Nakia. She's a champion of her tribe, is clearly a good fighter, is highly respected by the elders, goes out of her way to help people, would have been queen anyway if she married T'Challa, and she's played by an A-level actress in Lupita Nyongo. We still don’t know much of anything about the movie. For all we know, Nakia could very well be the next Black Panther. A lot of people are just assuming it’ll be Shuri because she becomes Black Panther in the comics. I really, really like that idea. Besides, technically with all the time jumps and such, she and T'challa could have had a child (in theory) and as such, she, grandma (the Queen Mother), and Princess Shuri may each have their part to play until the heir is ready to take the throne and the mantle of Black Panther. So perhaps Grandma Rhamonda works to prepare the heir for their job as top royal of Wakanda, Shuri handles making sure things are staying cool with all the outreach programs just as her brother wanted her to do, and Nakia is a full time mom and also the Black Panther until her child is old enough to take over. That way, they each have their way of honoring the legacy left behind by the late king of Wakanda, they each have a special connection to their son/brother/husband, and there is a believable thing keeping all three (as well as the Dora, because Okoye & co. would have to protect this kid) of them tied together for the next two movies. Also, back to that point about seeing the "what if" of the original script --- that could be a special release for D+/special edition of the Bluray. Perhaps doing the storyboards and such for the original plans they had for the sequel (or even the trilogy, surely they had some plans for BP3). It would make a nice collectable and would allow fans a chance to see what might have been. Bonus, if proceeds from buying that version of the DVD, were given to a charity the late Mr.Boseman would have approved of.
