American-born Italian film director and screenwriter Peter Del Monte has left us at the age of 77, on May 31st.
He directed fifteen films between 1969 and 2021. His 1982 film Invitation au voyage won the prize for the Best Artistic Contribution at the 1982 Cannes Film Festival.
Among his other movies were Julia and Julia 1987 starring Kathleen Turner, Gabriel Byrne and Sting, Etoile 1989 starring Jennifer Connelly, Traces of an Amorous Life 1990, Traveling Companion 1996 starring Asia Argento and Michel Piccoli and The Ballad of the Windshield Washers 1998.
