Truth be told, I'm not that heavily interested in this series compared to WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but I'll tag along for the ride. As for the pilot, I give it a 7/10. Here's a few of my thoughts:
- Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston have surprisingly good chemistry.
- I did like the TVA public service announcement narrated by "Miss Minutes", which was a nice throwback to UPA/Hanna-Barbera limited animation style from the 1950s and 1960s.
- The production design was another interesting retro throwback to 1970s office interiors.
- The bit where Loki was revealed to be D.B. Cooper was humorous.
- I didn't exactly like the throwaway gag of the Infinity Stones being used as paperweights, but the Infinity Saga is over so it's time to move on to new threats. Also, for a brief moment, you can see multiple Infinity Stones (especially the Time Stone) when Casey places the Tesseract inside a desk drawer.
- I'm guessing the looming threat that was teased at the end is Kang the Conqueror. I never read the comics, but from basic research, he involves himself with time travel.
