I just enjoy following it. I agree, the billion number doesn't bother me at all. Although I will disagree that the number doesn't matter. If it turned out to be a complete bomb, whether you liked it or not, you would know the franchise was in trouble. That's why it's important, however, there is a large widow where the final number doesn't change the future of the franchise. Whether this made 800 or 1.2 billion, nothing would be different for the future. However if somehow it had made it to 1.5 billion or something crazy, the timeline of the next film might be moved up, they'd be planning spinoffs, etc. So the number does have an effect.
