Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't both The New York Times and The Washington Post receive Pullitzer Prizes for writing articles which have since been debunked. I see no move from either paper to return the prizes with apologies. Or are they keeping them for works of fiction? Not recently. There was one time back in 1980 when a Washington Post journalist named Janet Cooke wrote a story titled "Jimmy's World" that turned out to be false and the award was rescinded.
