As far as 2 goes, I will always love it, but how our hero was able to walk home from the fortress of solitude remains one of the great unanswered questions in pop culture.

After they left the diner, at some point... He walked TO the fortress...

How did he get back to prison from the Fortress? It looks like Superman just left him there.
In a deleted scene, the Arctic police took him in to custody, just outside of the fortress... but where did the Arctic police come from?
Maybe the Fortress wasn't so hidden after all, and was near some arctic village... The walk wasn't so far.
But, yes, it seems Clark did some extra walking back TO the fortress, because no one would give him a ride to the arctic village.
