i'm just messing with ya. yeah i can see shades of cap1 and thor1, the period piece mixed with a fish out of water story, but it stands fairly separate from them imo. Oh it stands apart for sure. I didn't mean that as a knock saying it was a rip off or anything, I just meant it for comparisons sake. The Cap war vibe is obvious plus a bit of the fantastical elements of Thor, especially with the god references, and then of course both of those films dealt a lot with really defining what the lead character finds out about themselves, something Wonder Wonder does an extremely good job at. I really felt Diana had to deal with some amazing realizations and that was the strongest point of the film IMO. A few solid fight scenes, and it was good. I guess I'd give it an 8? If I had to. Not an all time great, but a very very very good start, and something to build on most def. |
