I would have never guessed what movie was if not for the clue about the remake.

I was thinking afterwards it might be a little harder than I first thought being a made for tv film from the 70s, and I was trying to keep away from full blown pics of the creatures. Which I thought could give it away.

I found the remake okay, a solid cast helped, but the atmosphere wasn’t as unnerving (especially the use of darkness) and the cgi used for the creatures looked poor. It paled in comparison to the eerie look of the original creatures.
