I think tv has had to dismiss the past in order to market itself.
I watched the Sopranos--is it better than Columbo or Hawaii Five-O?
I don't think so.
I think older shows that have stand alone episodes are more re-watchable.
I havent watched any new shows like Scooby Doo but I bet the original season intro song was better--and that's true of tons of tv shows of the old era.
