in other words, back in the day when television was simpler and better. As opposed to today, when television sucks.
In other words back when you could tune in to your favorite t.v. shows at certain times of the week and just watch them.
Even if it were shows that were off the air and it was only reruns of old t.v. shows.
It used to be better for t.v. in general but now all of that's gone.
Personally I think TV is so much better today than it used to be. And I'm a TV fan. Grew up watching old 90's and 80's sitcoms. I enjoyed them at the time. In some cases I still do. But TV today is vastly better. Dexter, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Stranger Things, etc. These are all epic dramas we are so lucky to be treated to.
