I do remember "For Your Eyes Only" being a favorite of the local easy listening aka adult contemporary radio station in town back in the early 1980s. I have memories of sitting in the dentist chair while this song would come on over the speakers in the room. Then there would inevitably be a Carole King song. Great memories. 
It's still a good theme song, probably one of the best, but it's funny how your mind makes connections with things. I don't think John Barry assisted with the theme which was unusual at the time.
