I agree with you on Spike, but by the end of season 7 he was really showing his age. James Marsters was older than the other actors in the "Scooby" gang. Well, yes, I know. But towards the end of 7 you see his face getting a little jowly and puffy. He hid the fact that he was in his 40s quite well.
