I'm a huge fan of Stewart, but Broken Arrow isn't one of his best Westerns. Chandler is pretty good as Cochise. It's a little plodding although the use of Technicolor makes it a pretty film. It's interesting from the standpoint that it portrayed the Native Americans in a balanced manner. As for the Woo film, it's a Woo film. Can't say much more about that. It's a fun throwaway action film. I've never been a huge Travolta fan, but Slater is good and I agree about Howie Long's death scream. I give a slight edge to the 1950 film just because I like Stewart/Chandler a heck of a lot better than Travolta/Slater. No one is better than a Travolta Slater rivalry in an action film not even Stewart. I think I've finally met a "same titled movie comparison" thread that I hate. People voting cowboys and Indians over badass Travolta is just pitiful but is to be expected.
