He had his best fights in Thor and Avengers. He gave Thor a fight in both the first Thor movie and Avengers. He used his spear mostly as a melee weapon and didn't depend on its powers like you said. In Avengers he beat up Captain America in a purely physical fight. And while he used his scepter to mind control a few SHIELD agents, he still used mostly physical attacks to take them out. And again in Avengers, he caught Hawkeye's arrow in mid air without looking, got hit by a shoulder tackle from Hulk and immediately got back up, took a grenade to the face without injury, and was completely bulletproof. But he still has his magical accoutrements along with his clothes before he zaps away with the Tesseract or this Loki is not the same Loki. And ye of little faith, there’s two more episodes to go. I never said Loki is a purely physical fighter. My point was that even as a purely physical fighter he was pretty beastly. His clothes don't provide him any magical assistance as far as we can tell. And yeah, we only have 2 more episodes left in a 6 episode series. And for 2/3 of that series he's been portrayed as a pretty underwhelming fighter, completely contradicting his movie version.
