Yes, I know they feature heavily in the comics, but come on man.
Let’s look at what has worked recently and what hasn’t. Worked- CA&TWS (minus the uber-woke monologue trash). Didn’t work- Endgame, Infinity War and Loki (so far).
TT should be a means to an end. It should set a scene and that’s it. Same with multiverses. Otherwise you have stories with ill-defined parameters. The plots are just getting ridiculous.
I should be excited about a new Spider-Man film and a new Ant-Man film but I’m not because I know they both are going to be concerned with multiverses and time travel, all to justify bringing back characters who otherwise don’t belong in the universe. It’s a cheap, tired gimmick. It’s not like Marvel has a shortage of characters to introduce. They haven’t even scratched the surface of Spidey’s rogues gallery for instance.
