Maybe, but it certainly contradicts with how his character has been portrayed in the movies. Here's a quick reminder of how Loki fought even when he wanted to intentionally get captured. 




And his performance there is such a far cry from his petty fight performance in this show. He's conniving and mischievous but he doesn't allow himself to look like a complete clown if he could help it. He has too much pride for that. Or at least he was supposed to.
