Time Travel logic is harder to pull off without getting too many plotholes. Multiverse logic is way easier, as it technically allows you to get away with anything and you can just explain it as being from another multiverse.
That said, I agree with Reykahuka, multiverse stuff feels hollow. Because whatever happens doesn't have as much impact on your own universe. If you ask me, multiverses are a lazy way of writing these stories.
