It is hard for me to think of a remake because usually you have a hook for the project--like a certain actor would be perfect for the role but these days, who would you pick?
I can't think of anyone good enough to be in a remake.
The alternative is that you have a new spin on the story or new spfx.
The 4DMan or the Man With the X-Ray Eyes--that could benefit from modern FX.
But then you have the problem of who do you cast who would make you forget Ray Milland or at least be equal to that...
and that's where it is trickier.
