I swear the first 20 minutes or so turns out to be just a dream, but I could be wrong. I don't think I saw the part where it is revealed to be a dream, if that is in fact what happens. I just remember Michael showing up at the hospital (right after the events of the first one) and he starts killing everyone and Laurie is trying to get a way, but then she wakes up from a dream.
