The remake has color, widescreen and graphic violence, but I prefer the nightmare shadows of the original and Simone Simone's enigmatic performance. I haven't seen the 1982 film in years. It probably could stand a re-evaluation.
That is why I prefer the original too. I also prefer the more subtle take of the original.
