Gender- and race-swapping a minor character doesn’t necessarily make it “woke”.
I had this problem with The Evil Dead remake - which I enjoyed to an extent
But somehow couldn't get over that they switched the lead from a male (Ash) to a female (Mia)
Just didn't work for me
I hope that doesn't make me sound like a misogynist
