I think it means less time for Hosmer (although it will fluctuate). If they have an infield of Cronenworth-Frazier-Tatis-Machado, that is four All Stars from this year. That is until Preller makes five other deals before the deadline.  Ken Rosenthal on The Athletic is reporting that the Padres are shopping Eric Hosmer.
That has to be the move, but they are going to have to give incentives for him to be taken.
