Greinke used to openly talk about his social anxieties and he would say it's why he would avoid larger media markets in contract talks, preferring the smaller markets for his own sanity. I'm not sure if that's still the case, as he played in LA for a few years and was great, although the west coast isn't quite the same animal as the northeast corridor, for better or for worse. Phoenix is heaven. When I lived on the west coast, I had friends from Scottsdale so I went there a bunch. It was truly beautiful but I believe it is vastly more built up nowadays. Didn’t spend a ton of time in Phoenix but I remember enjoying my time there, brief as it was.
