Barrett Robbins, center for the Raiders, went missing from the team just before the Super Bowl. Turned out he went to Tiajuana and said he thought he'd thought, in his delusion, that they'd already won the game and he was celebrating. He was later eventually diagnosed as bipolar after many substance abuse and legal issues. He was sentenced to years of probation for attempted murder and has been in and out of rehab and jail for decades now.
Alonzo Spellman was another guy who was a gifted NFL lineman (defensive in his case) who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He also had run-ins with substance and legal issues. It doesn't seem to have been as dramatic as Robbins for him, but there was a crazy story when he made a scene on a flight and they had to make an emergency landing.
Both guys have had a pretty awful post football life it seems.
