I prefer the original 1933 version although the latter one wasn't terrible.
Plusses being Jessica Lange , a moody John Barry soundtrack, and Jeff Bridges reaction when Kong snags a chopper.
But the original is quite smashing.
I have a colonised version which is on my to do list to watch.
