Vince Young was another head scratcher. After that Rose Bowl in '06, I would have bet money that he would have been a star. He was ROy and had a couple Pro Bowls, but never lived up to his college game. I remember some odd factors. He supposedly scored historically bad on the Wonderlic test. And Jeff Fisher didn't like him, preferring Kerry Collins.
You never can tell. No one thought Ryan Leaf would be a bust, it was just a matter if he was better than Peyton or not. Jim Plunkett was a huge bust until we went to the Raiders. Even then he didn't play and never would have except Tom Flores didn't want to start rookie Marc Wilson when Dan Pastorini got hurt. Now he's in the HOF talk. Testaverde and Carson Palmer struggled until they got to a different team. Could Russel and Leaf have succeeded in another situation?
