Yes interesting article that ploughs its own furrow,
Preminger a huge favourite of mine - I rewatched the entire filmography a couple of years back and very few disappointed completely.
Yes he has a bad rep with some actors..... Seberg (I gather Deborah Kerr so exercised by Otto's treatment of her she intereceded and told him to back off), John Phillip Law,Dunaway..... but others seemed happy to go back for several helpings (Dana & Gene several times - lovely pic of them BTW

His use of widescreen was second to none, he knew how to dissect an "institution" cinematically, and his working relationship with Saul Bass felicitous. His unswerving commitment to challenging established norms of what was "acceptable" subject matter onscreen for adult viewers benefitted us all (and he sure knew how to exploit the ensuing controversy
