There is a petition going in Newcastle to retire Cheick's old shirt number 24....No, sir.
Why retire it? Render it redundant? It's a heartfelt sentiment but don't you think that the player himself would want that number to be worn by another fellow professional at the club he once played for? A player maybe starting out, maybe coming through the ranks, optimistic, eager, hungry for success? Keep the spirit and flame of the #24 shirt alive and well, in Cheick Tioté's honour, is what I would do. Huh?
