As a massive fan of Lowry's previous film, A Ghost Story, I'm curious about this one. Looks like quite a different beast though.Indeed it is. Not what I expected - which wasn't a bad thing, and it didn't really work for me, but it certainly wasn't boring and I would urge you to see it as it might be more your thing than mine. I enjoyed Ain't Them Bodies Saints very much, and The Old Man & the Gun was pretty cool. I have never seen * A Ghost Story, but I do have a Blu-ray of it; which I bought for a song on the day the Musica in the mall closed it's doors for the last time. Feel free to chide me, or even sell me on it, I just never got around to watching it; did contemplate watching it once or twice, though. What have I missed? I’ve actually not seen those other two, though I am aware of them and Ain’t Them Bodies Saints looks good. A Ghost Story is a very divisive film. It’s very singular, minimal, and slow moving but very beautiful and dare I say “haunting”. There’s not really much I can compare it to (Malick, Reichardt, Kore-eda, Weerasethakul, will give you an idea of the pace, but it’s a stretch to take anything more from the comparisons). Give it a chance, you’ll soon know if it’s something you’ll want to go along with.
