Last time I saw him in a role, was as a Nazi hunter.
That would be as Meyer Offerman, a Polish-Jewish philanthropist and Holocaust survivor, in 'Hunters'. For Al Pacino, it was also a chance to channel one of his heroes, Laurence Olivier, who played a Nazi hunter in Franklin J. Schaffner's brutal thriller 'The Boys From Brazil' (1978) which was based upon a novel by Ira Levin.
Nice. I wasn't aware of that. Only remember seeing Laurence Olivier in Marathon Man and the the young love movie with Diane Lane in Paris. The title escapes me now.
