It's complicated...
The nearest indoor mall, to where I live, is all but dead... However, one of the anchor stores is a Target, and I went there just a few weeks ago. It still seems to be doing well... But, as far as I know, the rest of the mall is closed. You can't even get inside, from Target. The mall doors are closed, and it's been barricaded off with junk... If there is anything still in there, I have no clue as to what it would be... And the parking lot around the mall, is full of pot holes, and weeds growing out of the cracks... Only Target has received some fresh pavement... There is a major bus stop there too... It's been over five years since there was any else there, that I went inside to shop.
Another indoor mall is my area is still doing well, but, It's been about five years as well, since I had any reason to go inside...
I think in both cases, the last stores I went to were Sears... One as it closed, and one to shop for tools.
Strip malls are the only things I've been to more recently, and even then, not frequently.
I miss the variety of stores at Indoor Malls, and how festive they are during the Holidays...
