I like this one a lot. No one was better than Heston at the larger than life roles (Moses, Michelangelo, etc) but people seem to forget he was very good at the flawed character parts too. And this is one of them.
The film suffers a little with the look of many Universal pictures of the 60s - I don't know if "cheap" is the right way to describe it.
But an unusual plot, layered characters and interesting casting make up for any shortcomings.
Rosemary Forsyth is a knockout. What happened to Guy Stockwell? Major roles in this and Tobruk, the lead in Beau Geste, all in a short period. Barely seen him since.
