Remembering actor and producer JOHN HOUSEMAN (1902 – 1988), who was born on September 22nd in Bucharest, Romania. He is known for his highly publicized collaboration with director Orson Welles from their days in the Federal Theatre Project through to the production of Citizen Kane.
He is perhaps best known for his role as Professor Charles Kingsfield in the film The Paper Chase (1973), for which he won a best supporting actor Oscar. He reprised his role as Kingsfield in the subsequent television series adaptation of The Paper Chase.
Between 1945 and 1962, he produced 18 films for Paramount, Universal and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, including the film noir The Blue Dahlia (1946) and the film adaptation of Julius Caesar (1953) (for which he received an Academy Award nomination for "Best Picture"). – Wiki
My own note: Houseman is hilarious in this cameo from The Naked Gun. The movie was released the year he died.
