These were what I saw this week from my library-I'm going through the 70's films. Most were OK- 2 were great (to me).
Fantastic planet- a little more childish than I expected
DVD - 2016 | French
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Harold and Maude- saw the ending coming 1/2 hr before it happened. Too bad it links living fully with suicide- this is not true
DVD - 2012 | Widescreen.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
The Day of the Jackal- tedious and the ending is so predictable
DVD - 1998 | Widescreen ed.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia- lost realism with magical gun shooting abilities by hero - mindless violence
DVD - 2005 | Widescreen.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Black Christmas [1974]- this was supposed to be scary
DVD - 2006
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Bruce Lee Double Feature
The Way of the Dragon ; Game of Death- Lee at least isn't pretentious- cheesy fun
DVD - 2013
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Dark Star- was supposed to be funny but I found it boring
The Spaced-out Space Ship
DVD - 2001 | Widescreen special ed.

Hair- arrogant, rude hippies show how morally bankrupt they are- only one good song

3 Women- wonderful, slow build psychological drama will get this one
DVD - 2004 | Widescreen version.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Logan's Run- oh so predictable- every minute
DVD - 2007
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
The Shootist- John Wayne has made the exact same movie 100 times. Since his character had cancer I held out hope he might break the mold for once- but no- just the same old Wayne beats everyone in the end
DVD - 2001 | Widescreen ed.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
The Black Stallion- scenic and predictable- but at least it tried to break out of 70's cynicism
DVD - 1998 | Widescreen version, Standard version.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
The tin drum- beyond irritating child ruins the movie
Die Blechtrommel

Mean Streets- decent mob fare stuff
DVD - 2004 | Special ed., Widescreen version

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three- the best movie out of the lot by far (for me). I was solidly entertained the whole way- love old NYC characters will get this one also
DVD - 2000 | 1974 version widescreen ed.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Smokey and the Bandit- probably good after 3 six-packs of beer are downed- unfortunately I was sober
DVD - 2017 | 40th anniversary edition
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
The Bad News Bears 4-Movie Collection- foul mouthed kids ruin any chances I cared about them overcoming any odds
DVD - 2017 | Widescreen ed.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
The Warriors- this works as a comedy. Is it a comedy?
DVD - 2005 | Ultimate director's cut Widescreen.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
Sleuth- a modern film slipped in my set as they sent the wrong version. Clever, but I wouldn't watch it again.
DVD - 2008 | Widescreen.
Checked out on: Sep 21, 2021
American Graffiti- what horrible camera work. I could hardly tell what what going on many times in the muddy darkness and auto headlight glare. I didn't care about any of the characters or find any interesting. Watching this was like chewing gum.
Lots of OK films but at least I got 3 Women and Pelham 1,2,3 out of it
