I would be happy to see a female Macbeth. On PBS, I saw a all-woman production of Julius Caesar, a video of a West End hit from a few seasons ago. It was staged as a play-within-a- play. The conceit was that we were watching JC as acted by inmates of a woman’s prison. It was excellent. From the classic era: Barbara Stanwyck Betty Davis Flora Robson Ida Lupino Currently Active: Francis MacDormand (who will be playing Lady Macbeth in the film about to be released) Meryl Streep (she doesn’t suck) Laura Dern Sophie Okonedo I like your Sophie Okenedo mention what about maybe Gugu Mbatha Raw or perhaps Georgina Campbell. I saw Gugu Mbatha Raw in Edward Norton's neo- noir "Motherless Brooklyn" and liked her very much. A good pick.
