Okay, without calling anybody a globalist anything, it does make sense that this was a political decision, now that you mention it.
Otherwise, why not preserve the discussion boards as archives, at least, and take just a minimal amount of time to moderate and remove abusive trolling posts from the records?
It must be that too many people were expressing political opinions that they did not want on their boards, so they decided to get rid of the whole entire thing.
I am actually less offended by this possibility. The idea that some corporate jerks would just get rid of years of serious conversations that meant so much to so many people because it wasn't making a financial profit is so upsetting.
