I usually do watch trailers nowadays, but not so much back then. When would it have been? 2002. In those days, there was always the off-chance of catching them on TV, but Internet was strictly dial-up and crazy slow. Watching videos - even short ones - was an ordeal-and-a-half. The only times I managed to watch them with any degree of consistency was when one of those movie review shows came on (usually on the BBC in my house) and I didn't stumble across those too often. But yeah, anyway, I was expecting one thing and the movie delivered something totally different that left me disappointed. There were still trailers especially for Bond and it being released in an anniversary celebrating 50 years of Bond there was a lot of publicity and promotion back then too. I don't remember any of that tbh. Even though I was a movie fan back then, I wasn't as heavily invested in following the latest releases (except for Star Trek) then as I am now. Plus my life was super messy at the time due to various factors, so my attention would have been diverted anyway. I ended up seeing the film at home some time after its original release.
