Bill Maher probably thinks it's "woke" not to genocide Palestinians, so I'm not really interested in what he has to say. Always interesting to set up an ad hominem with a straw man. Was that an ad hom? Fine, I suppose I'll go more into it. This is essentially the same "boomer" take every generation does, ie ('the left has gone too far!"). Maher isn't making some profound discovery, he's just latched on to a repackaged term (again "PC' was used before woke and it meant pretty much the same). I'm not sure how Maher made a distinction between "woke" and "politically correct" BTW, he didn't go into any real analysis between the two in the clip. If this clip was released 10 years ago, he could have easily replaced "woke" with "PC" and it wouldn't have made a difference. If he was pressed on it, I seriously doubt he could make an actual distinction between the two. Straw man? Maher is an unapologetic Israel supporter, leftists/progressives overwhelmingly dislike Israel, Maher has shown an increasing disdain for leftists/progressives (he writes them off as "woke") the only way for Israel to continue to exist is to remove/kill Palestinians...so what is the logical conclusion to make here? He hasn't shown any disdain for the removal and killing of Palestinians for decades, why would he suddenly change his tune? Especially now that he has a new term ('woke") to simply dismiss protests from leftists/progressives?
