Russian oligarchs, Arab despots, American crooks ... is there any big EPL club that does not have a morally reprehensible owner? I wonder if any Newcastle are against this? Probably not. But then I used to wonder that about Chelsea / Man City fans - there must be some Chelsea fans - of a certain age - at least who'd trade it in to see them win a few cups / be competitive in the league on a real footing rather than have bought success. One of the great things being a football fan is seeing a team being built and knowing that your side are coming real close. That's kind of stolen when these takeovers happen. e.g. I bet any Newcastle fan would still trade in what's happening now if they could have seen that Keegan era team win the league... I realise it is very easy for me as a distant observer to feel outraged about it. I really don't know how I would feel if I were a die-hard Newcastle fan. Be happy that my team might become a contender again after so long, or be despondent about my beloved club now being the property of an utterly vile institution?
