There is no excuse, ever, for such boneheaded play calling in the NFL. Surely someone from head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterback, captain - 4 people presumably, had the idea of maybe, just maybe, kick the field goal ? I have no issue with going for the win. The problem here was not only were they not kicking a fg, they weren't trying to score either. They were trying to get a 1st down, which was stupid. There was no way, given the play called, that they were getting 3 yards there. Go for the win, or kick the field goal. Never the QB sneak. Dumb, dumb play.
