IMDB user ratings of movies and why I ignore them

I still like to use IMDb ratings as a guide because they’re generally pretty accurate (despite my disagreeing big time with a rating on occasion).

I do agree that comedies (as well as horror movies) tend to get underrated on IMDb and that animated movies tend to get slightly overrated
