I still like to use IMDb ratings as a guide because they’re generally pretty accurate (despite my disagreeing big time with a rating on occasion).I do agree that comedies (as well as horror movies) tend to get underrated on IMDb and that animated movies tend to get slightly overrated I think the IMDB rating is much better indicator than the tomatometer on RT. I didn't bring up RT b/c I think it is so worthless. There are way too few ratings and this leads to wild extremes. I also suspect that they juice their ratings in exchange for $ from studios- it seems like a PR site.
