I don't see how. I don't think anybody is referring to the mom when they say Jason and there is no ambiguity there imo. Again, I didn't say it isn't technically incorrect. What is acceptable is just what I am not bothered by and can understand where the argument is coming from. Maybe I was too hard one of the other replies, because what someone finds acceptable is subjective. Even the name Adam isn't his name, it is just a comparison to the Adam of the Bible. He isn't speaking literally. I think that poster got that from the book where he goes around calling himself Adam. Haven't read it in awhile, though. I suppose "acceptable" is an extreme word. Like we need to round up anyone who calls him Frankenstein and shoot them.I just assumed that he called himself Adam at some point in the movie and just don't remember. I am the type of idiot who would call him Frankensetein at the threat of a gun just out of spite.  I don't think it is acceptable to go around saying Jason Vorhees is the antagonist in Friday the 13th. That is the difference. That is something I will have to correct someone about or it will drive me nuts.
