I thought it was ridiculous that Costner, a former police officer, is pointing a gun at the bad guys, but they are still able to jump him and get his gun. I hated what they did to him as well as the way the movie ended. Very unsatisfying ending ruined what could’ve been a good movie.

The second half is why I like the movie so much. I bought that they were able to get the upper hand in the motel and I was satisfied with his character's sacrifice. For him to come out of that situation alive at the end would have been hard to believe.
