The "Blue Ridge Mountains"
region of the USA... Specifically in West Virginia, Virginia, & North Carolina...
My Dad's parents lived in NW North Carolina, before they died... and every year when I was a kid, we would travel the highways to go see them...
We would go through Charleston, West Virginia...
...travel South on the West Virginia Turnpike (I-64/I-77)...
...and continuing with I-77 through Virginia and driving through East River Mountain Tunnel...
...& Big Walker Mountain Tunnel...
...to get to Wytheville, Virginia...
...From there we could take a couple different routes involving US Roads/State Roads or the Blue Ridge Parkway...
...to head WSW to get to Jefferson, NC in the NW corner of the state of NC.
It's the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen in my life...
