Not a fan of adding another judgment call to the game. First time a QB stumbles a bit and the ref calls him down, there will be calls to kill the rule. Had that thought, too. But I figure targeting is already up to them, and targeting is what's going to be called a lot more when these QBs start playing games with the fake sliding. But ultimately that's the reason they won't institute a rule change. How can a ref be expected to tell the difference between a fake slide and an ugly juke move by a QB who isn't a particularly gifted runner?
