Sad to hear of Robbie Shakespeare's passing.
Robbie's teaming up with Sly Dunbar was incredibly fortuitous. Together they creeated their own rhythm, rockers sound, that helped propel reggae music musically. For two years they were at the very top, terrifying other musicians until they managed to learn and replicate their sound. Then they started producing, that also changed the way bands recorded, as they brought their musical knowledge and know-how to production. It was a subtle but effective approach, that upended the traditional role of the producer, and led them to produce for many all over the world.
Thank you!
