Black Panther Discussion Thread

Black Panther is going to turn out to be a better film than Thor Ragnarok.

There is a lot more to unpack in Black Panther thematically. It's filled with mind-blowing concepts.

• A technologically advanced civilization in the heart of Africa.
• A society / warrior culture where women play a significant role.
• Mercenary forces that are trying to exploit the wealth of an African nation.
• A xenophobic society that employs subterfuge and murder to protect its secrets.
• A nation that appears to seamlessly fuse advanced technology and tribal/ritual customs.

And, for the second time, Marvel has arranged for a black man to be able to stride defiantly through a hail of gunfire and emerge unharmed - the irony is not lost on me.

I enjoyed the brief sequences of Killmonger's extraction of Klaue from Federal custody - very professional. Jordan is either going to crush the Killmonger roll or be the weakest link.
