I know this isn't a popular opinion on the board, but I don't give a rat's butt about guys using steroids, and these writers have a tendency to get a kick atop their high horse and casting players out of the HOF. This Sosa vs. Ortiz article is a perfect example of why the whole thing is a bit dumb.
You know what, Barry Bonds is one of the greatest fucking players I've ever seen play. Put him in the Hall. Roger Clemens is a redneck, headhunting, roid-raging, cheating asshole who I wouldn't piss on if he were on fire. But dammit if he doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame.
I like Rosenthal's list. Andruw Jones is iffy but even though his career numbers aren't great when looked at in a vacuum, he was, without question, the best center fielder I have ever seen. He made the position look easy. And while I wouldn't put Rolen in there necessarily, I know the arguments for him and they're pretty fair. Bonds, Clemens, Helton, Kent, Schilling, Sheffield and Wagner are no-brainers for me.
